The smoked Livar bakbacon is made from the rib and loin chops with bacon. The bakbacon is leaner and less marbled than the smoked breakfast bacon. The meat is lightly salted and mildly smoked, creating a pleasant smoky flavour. Smoked plantain bacon is often baked out and combined with, for example, an egg, hamburger or a classic BLT.
