Beesel - Bongers family
Take a look at the Bongers family's Livar farm
We are Jan and Marlie Bongers and live with our sons Kevin and Arjan in the beautiful neighbourhood of Rijkel belonging to the village of Beesel. The farm has been in the family for three generations.
We have had Livar sows and fattening pigs since 2013. What we like about this way of keeping pigs is the freedom the pigs have. Rain or shine, you always see them enjoying being outside. This contributes to a special piece of meat.
Besides pigs, we also grow potatoes, cereals, maize, beet (grass) seeds and a plot of asparagus is also part of our farm. Nothing tastes better than Livar ham with our own fresh asparagus!
We also offer day care to participants 2 days a week at our care farm on Rijckel. Together with Marlie, they take care of the horses, ponies, parakeets and other animals. The vegetable garden and orchard are maintained and, of course, the pigs get the necessary attention.
