Meerlo - Livar farm Meerlo

On 15 August 2020, the opening by the Provincial Commissioner of the Province of Limburg and blessing by Father Abbot Dom Malachias of our newest Livar stable took place. This tenth Livar farm is located in Meerlo in northern Limburg.

The completely newly built Livar farm in Meerlo is a special feature in the landscape. The innovative architecture is not only an eye-catcher, but even more so, it ensures that the Livar pigs can always enjoy lying inside in the straw or have a nice time in the outdoor area under the best conditions. Financial support from the Province of Limburg and the EU made new features in the houses possible, such as automatic defrosting and a bedding system. Automatic defrosting contributes to a very fresh and pleasant barn climate and low emissions. The bedding system ensures that fresh straw is sprinkled into the pigs' litters several times a day, which is nice to play with and great to lie in!
